Transmission Fault Limited Gears Available.

Ahoy there!

Bad day today Crying or Very sad

Auto gearbox on our 2007 HSE started having issues today.
Hard shifting up, shifting up to no drive, hard shifting down, episodes of no drive.

Managed to get it to our local garage 5 mins away. He thought i got the day mixed up, it was booked for new glow plugs on Thursday...
Info message as i drove on to the forecourt: Transmission fault limited gears available. + HDC fault system not available
But no F on the gear display.
10 yr service at LR last year.
220.000 km.
Starts on the button, strong battery.

Anything i could check, before writing a huge check....?

I can hook up our Gap IIDBTool in a day or two.

Thaaaaaaanks Bow down Bow down Bow down

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Fuji White

Manual says

Limp Home
If a transmission fault is detected by the TCM, the TCM adopts a limp home strategy and a message 'TRANSMISSION FAULT LIMITED GEARS AVAILABLE' is displayed in the message center. If the fault has an effect on engine emissions, the MIL in the instrument cluster will also be illuminated.
In limp home mode, P, R and N functions operate normally (if the fault allows these selections) and the TCM locks the transmission in 3rd gear to allow the driver to take the vehicle to a Land Rover dealer or approved repairer. Torque converter lock-up is disabled and reverse-lock-out will not function.
If the vehicle is stopped and subsequently restarted in the limp home mode condition, the TCM operates normally until the fault which caused the condition is detected again.

Only other thing it says is get the diagnostic codes checked.
With all the logic and computing it could be almost anything including loose plugs, failing sensors.
Do a general Google on limp home - interesting reading
