JLC LandRover http://www.jlc.hernehill.landrover.co.uk/ are close to you. Like TVLR above they are a LR approved workshop, not a dealer, and can do warranty work, software etc. I used them a few times for work on the FL2 when I lived in Dulwich - they are friendly and helpful, but not particularly cheap. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

Hi all,

Am I missing something? All I can see when I open this link (copied from upthread) is a blank map...
https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=z-c...sp=sharing

How do I see the map with recommended garages marked on it?

I am looking for an idie within a few hours drive from the Isle of Skye. I have found the website of Inverness 4X4 Centre- does anyone know it or use it?

Thanks, Richard. Currently enjoying:
2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS (SOLD)
2013 BMW X3 20D M-Sport Auto
2007 Jaguar XK 4.2 Coupe

Scotland 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Zermatt Silver

I used Inverness 4x4 a number of years ago for the 110. I found them to be ok but nothing to rave about. They were cheaper than the dealer but slower and never seemed enthusiastic about getting the business. I never like that feeling where the garage make you feel that they are doing you a favour by taking your car rather than seeing you as a valued customer.

However, I was past there on Saturday and there is certainly a huge stack of LR vehicles outside, so they must be doing pretty well. I don’t think you will find anyone with more LR experience around, so I am tempted to give them another try when I need something doing that is beyond the expertise of my local mechanic. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Reminds me of a friend of mine who was working on an oil rig in the North Sea and ordered something from Amazon for when he got home. He was about to hit the accept button when he noticed that Amazon had worked out where he was currently located and was offering the items for pick up at his nearest Post Office - which was in Norway! Shocked 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

That is helpful - thanks.

I think my next-nearest indie is Lix Toll at Killin. Has anyone been to them? Currently enjoying:

On this subject. 'approved land rover garage' just quoted me £260+ vat for a A service but doesn't use LR parts and will not stamp the book ( even though I haven't got one ) Rolling Eyes
LR dealer quotes £275 but if I don't use a 'LR approved 'garage warranty is nulled. So stuck with them until warranty runs out. If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

thought the law states that you can get the car serviced at any VAT registered garage using genuine or better quality parts without affecting the warranty ?

the only reason I use LR under warranty is a)if the price is right under the 3+ scheme and b) so that if any warranty claims are needed they have less cause to wiggle out of paying for covered items

£275 incl VAT for the A service is the same price as under the 3+ scheme (it was £350 for the B service)

I don't think that is too bad tbh considering most reputable indy garages would charge £200+ anyway.

Premier Services Garage Hazel Graove

Hello, thanks to the advice read on the forum, I chose to go to Premier Garage Services, in Hazel Grove, Cheshire.
Excellent services, direct contact with the engineer who collected and repaired my car (noisy rear differential).
Not only I prefer being able to speak directly with the engineer, but you do not have to pay for all the fancy and useless services in the official garage, for which you pay the price on your final bill.
The full refurbishment of the differential was £650 + VAT compared to £795 + VAT quoted to change only one bearing!

https://www.premiergarageservices.co.uk/

And other costs quoted by the official garage were in fact not needed...

So I am definitely a client of Premier Garage Services.

I'm in SE London and been an owner for less than 6 months. Found RCV in East Peckham Kent, who gave the car a full service just after I bought it. No complaints, save the fact that they're about 30 miles away - they do have courtesy cars, Astras, but don't do my back any good Sad so I'm pretty reliant on getting a mate to pick me up etc.
Any one use other Indys in this next of the woods?
Can't get the Indy map to open so can't see for myself

By way of an update, does anyone use RCV?. Needing them to look at the auto-jolt issue and an MOT. Have emailed a couple of times, no response. Called, but constantly engaged, even now when they're closed, so could be a telecoms issue?.
In the meantime, anyone used LRR in Charlton or Dakar Cars, Swanley?

I can recommend TERRAIN VEHICLES in Bexhill.

312A Bexhill Rd, Hastings, Saint Leonards-on-sea TN38 8AL
Phone: 01424 200300

Just had a lot of work done on clutch, front IRS, door latch and a service.
It was the second time I'd used them and they were excellent both times.
Their prices are also very reasonable.
