I wish that somewhere there was a little book of FL2 logic because sometimes my car defies me. For example I discovered the other day that the windscreen wipers do not fully work if the bonnet is ajar. Caused me a bit of worry for a while. (yes I know it was telling me on the instrument panel, but I was too busy looking at the wipers.

Yes, and the cabin light won’t go off if you have unlocked the tailgate by mistake using the fob, when rushing to get into the car on a dark and stormy night! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

My previous 07 Reg freelander 2 did the same boot lamp on all the time it was caused by a broken microswitch in the boot latch. Thumbs Up

You are right about earlier FL2s (pre MY13?). Do have an easier non-digital response to switches.

I can't see if tom.tom says what year his FL2 is, perhaps he could fill in the myfreelander part of his profile to make it easier for us. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 74k+ miles) (MY2015)
