Pocket camera modification lens hood & filters

I am an SLR user but I am quite happy to sacrifice weight & volume of equipment, but no lens hood or the option of sticking a polarizing filter on the camera is a real handicap.

So I bought a setup ring & sanded off the rear thread & glued it to the front of the lens with 5 minute Araldite.

I have trimmed the lens hood as there was a very tiny amount of vignetting, but it now folds completely back on the camera.

Now I don't have to shoot through my scratched sunglasses for polarizing photos!

Still miss super wide & wide angle, but I don't miss the weight! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
