United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Tonga Green

Yes Tigger, seen in the flesh but not driven - yet….. However, unlike you, I only do about 7000 a year, pottering mainly, so justifying a sizeable outlay is the problem and mpg is not. There is the DPF issue (MY10 and on) which I am currently exempt from (MY57) that concerns me a little but I guess I will bite the bullet next week and try it out. Might just find the "drive" is so much better (hard to believe) than my current beast that my resistance wains. Meanwhile, once again, enjoy yours when it arrives. Thumbs Up

I'm sure if you take it out, you'll love it. It's a great example.

I don't know what to suggest on the DPF. After 89,000 trouble free miles in my 2011 FL2, I don't have any concerns about this one, but then it gets every opportunity to regenerate.

Please let us know how you get on.

John.

My family have been out in the RS for the last time and Hunters will be driving the FL2 down on Wednesday the 15th, though we won't meet up until 7.30am on the 16th.

Exciting times Very Happy

The Focus RS is a nice car, but it's completely hopeless for a trip back across Bodmin moor, in the dark and the rain, with pot holes and mud. And sheep. And cows.

I want my Land Rover back! Roll on Thursday morning Thumbs Up

What about "the beast" - any sign?

Not tonight, but I never used to feel too comfortable when I used to cycle along some of the remote lanes on the moor at about 5am! Shocked

Yep. Been there too - especially as a child. Memories of being scared witless if cycling in the moor at night and a vocal fox starts up. Very scary noise - good motivation to pedal faster (until, that is, you get used to it.) Never did see the beast though.

Well Tigger, procrastination has had it's way… Delayed trying out the green one at R Y's - and, b…..r me, someone's been and bought it! Maybe inadvertent publicity via the forum, or maybe not… Whichever, it's made up my mind for me - save the money until absolutely necessary. Fate. Hope you enjoy yours when it finally arrives!

Sorry you missed out on that one crockett. The choice is entirely yours, my friend, but personally I'd carry on looking quietly and choose another in your own time, rather than wait until the need becomes pressing with little time to choose the best car.

John.

Got it in one John, no need to rush. Current "car" drives like a dream, but there will come a time…. Meanwhile, it's quite interesting looking.

Wow, what fun coming across this old thread Very Happy

That Freelander was 4 Land Rovers ago now!! Shocked It was a fabulous car, but I only kept it for around a year, trading it for an even nicer FL2 when a fault cropped up that Roger Young's couldn't fix Sad

I see from it's MoT history that it's in use, but doing very, very low annual mileage.

It's good to see that our Mr crockett is still putting his '07 to good use too! Thumbs Up
