Door Handle Cover Paint Mismatch

Had my car in the dealers to have the door latch fixed, which they did, but in doing so the tech damaged my small cover and they had to replace

When i went to collect the cover looks a different colour, so they are ordering another and respraying that, to me it looks like the base coat is a different colour, or the metallic flakes are larger, either way its stood out like a sore thumb

That cap is from another Freelander 2 or Disco 3.

Did the dealer REALLY think you would not notice ???

Anyone who owns a metallic blue FL2 needs to check if the door cap is now missing as a Mod may have it Laughing FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

England 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Galway Green

Similar thing happened to me.

I damaged my end cap when I fixed the broken lock. Went to the parts department and told them the reg and they had a new cap on the shelf that looked the same colour. I fitted it and was happy and then about 2 months later I noticed that the colour was different !

Maybe they lighten over time due to UV as my cap is definitely darker than the handle. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

Germany 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Stornoway Grey

I had black handles on grey metallic FL2, i bought original and already painted from factory handles and they fit perfectly to the car color and my car was made in 2008 so it doesn't look like the sun had any impact on the color

think its just missmatched paint by the body shop and they used the wrong paint code or something

I doubt there will be any or very little UV damage as the sealent i use is UV resistant Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
