Cold Starting NO power steering

got into my 09 GS today, very cold (2 deg ), pressed start button, slight delay in cranking (which I expect) , reversed out the farm gate only to find I had NO power steering ?? gave the wheel a tug ... then another yank and power steering came back, was OK for the rest of the journey.

It felt like wheels were stuck in the direction I had left it parked ? the steering wasn't heavy, it just wasn't moving ??

.

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Firenze Red

My belt tensioner failed last Friday night, if its sticking or on its way out you will loose power steering.

Easy enough to fit a new one its just getting hold of one at short notice, FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
