Which Haldex Version?

Hi,

In the process of buying a FL2 SD4 HSE 2012 model. Just curious as to which version of the Haldex unit it would have, 3 or 4?

Did the 3 have a significant increase in reliability over the 2 and likewise, is the 4 much improved over the 3?

Cheers

from wiki

The 4WD system was developed in conjunction with Haldex and was called Third generation coupling. Vehicles from the 2009 model year are fitted with a modified design of the active on-demand coupling, known as Haldex's Fourth generation.

see full wiki on Freelander here, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_Rover_Freelander

I have had 3 FL's and not had any issues with the Haldex

Wales 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Firenze Red

Many threads on this but is there a definitive sign ( for non-mechanical folk ) to spot a Haldex problem ? If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

Freelander 2 HSE auto 2014 ( Florrie ) ..... Try again.
Freelander 2 GS 2012...... Gone.
