Krack attack

Every Wi-Fi network at risk of unprecedented 'Krack' hacking attack - The Telegraph

To those with computer knowledge, if someone used this to hack your WiFi but you were connected to a VPN, would the VPN protect you against the hack? LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

VPN will offer you protection from this and various others attempts to access your data but only whilst you are connected to it From what I have read secure sites (those starting https) are not affected,From a security point of view you should never have your secure data (passwords, bank details, etc) easily accessible from your device, never ask your device to save your password when you connect, even to an HTTPs site (it's amazing how many people save this data as a text file that is easily read) Use a password safe such as Keepass to store access codes and passwords.

Try to avoid open Wi-Fi networks, yes they are free to connect but have no security at all and all sorts of people connect to them and they are great place for unethical hackers to grab data from you without you even realising.
