Just be careful when sending a key/fob off for repair. For security, I'd have it delivered to my work or a friends address. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

Hi has anyone used the key programmer in Rochdale Halx-home-automation.£69.99 for a new key and programmed to your car onsite in Rochdale.to good to be true ?..

FYI yes I just did. The keys are clearly not landrover originals (dont fit in easily, stiff to push etc) but seem okay. The difficulty is after an hour of headscratching with my excellent local indy in oldbury it turns out only 1 of these keys can be programmed to a car at 1 time. I bought 2 and there is no way to get 2 working (Halx confirmed this) and I am now retuning and sourcing 2 genuine keys.

Also with regards to changing the batteries which I did on my old keys you need to be careful. I managed to get 1 key I had with a duff battery working by unsoldring the battery and buoyed on decided to do the same with the second working one. The result was that the first one lasted a month before it stopped working and the second (which was originally working) now doesnt work at all hence trying to source 2 new keys! I think its down to how much heat you apply, which is tricky when getting the old battery off.
