Fault code boost control position sensor 2562-63

Well after getting the old girl going after a long lay-up I now see a boost control position sensor 2562-63 coming up as a permanent fault. Would I be right in thinking this could be a turbo stuck variable vane mechanism after sitting so long (months) or could it be a wiring or wiring connector fault or is this wishful thinking possibly. I'll need to get the motor over the pit to have a close look. I haven't started fault tracing as yet but hoping to cure with a squirt of release oil, again wishful thinking. You can manually push the vanes open and shut from below after adding easing oil. Did a previous write up somewhere with diagram. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I had the car on the pit this evening and had a look at the turbo vane linkage and actuator, I didn't disconnect the actuator linkage but couldn't move the actuator at all (using a small cone pliers) but I guess this is possibly normal due to the possibly high gearing inside the actuator??? I guess I should have removed the linkage clip and tried to move the turbo vanes with the linkage disconnected from the actuator however I didn't fancy dropping and loosing the clip but I guess I'll need to go that route and disconnect the link anyhow.
Anyway with the turbo hot-ish I've given all a right good spray with the magic release fluid so possibly some miracle will happen overnight and all will be free to move by tomorrow evening. Laughing

So far due to its location I have not disconnected the actuator from the turbo vane linkage but was wondering if there was a way of testing the actuator function when disconnected from the turbo or possibly when still connected to the turbo vane linkage?
Is the actuator fuse protected?
All help appreciated as I don't really want to have to remove the actuator if its not faulty.

Further to my last post on this subject. I disconnected the actuator to turbo variable vane operating arm linkage at the actuator end to check to see how free the vanes moved , they were almost stuck solid due to the the car sitting unused for many months. the solution was to soak the side of the turbo with a quality release oil then get a long length of 5mm rod with a short sharp 90deg bend on the end, link the rod into the turbo vane linkage and work the vane linkage through the full travel very many times occasionally spraying with more release oil. this worked a treat with the vanes freeing off completely. After reinstating the linkage to the actuator the car ran perfectly with no further fault codes. I guess I was lucky no to destroy the actuator with the turbo variable vanes being stuck.
