Clunking from the back of my fl2 (possible cause found)

with my 2013 fl2 parked up i got underneath to have a good look for the clunk i get on pulling away or turning out of junctions, it is intermittent like all annoying problems. I thought it was a bush somewhere as it always seemed to just clunk once and could be felt through the chassis. anyway underneath i can find no obvious play anywhere and in dragging myself around I grabbed a drive shaft to push myself and there was movement !, not radially obviously as the wheels where on the ground but by grabbing the part highlighted in my pics I could by pushing and pulling up and down (ground to sky) i could make a good clunk, worse on one side
Is this a common fault? is it diff bearing? and what is the cure? new diff, new bearings or other ???

Pics in gallery

Just to add there is no bearing rumble at all, no diff running noises at all, and the haldex has been serviced

Stupid question but is the part arrowed a cv joint, and can it be replaced on its own?
car only has 45k on the clock

Had a similar noise, was the driveshafts.
It is a known issue and Land Rover have a repair which involves Loctiting the shafts.
Didn't work with me so they changed both shafts, hubs, bearings etc. and noise went away.
Luckily all under warrantee.

I had a front driveshaft UJ problem which felt similar to what you are describing when you grabbed hold of it but showed up as vibration on steering wheel.
