Whistling from the air intake

My freelancer 2 (2010) has developed a high pitched whistling that seems to be coming from the air intake box under the bonnet, performance is uneffected and there are no warning lights.
Has anyone had this happen and any advice as to the possible cause ?

Thanks

Grant
