United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Baltic Blue
Auto Dip interior mirror

Does anyone know if the wiring is in place for these on models that don't have them fitted as standard (2013 TD4 XS) and is it the sort of thing that needs to be coded to work or can it work as a standalone.
Essentially, if i can find one s/h, can i fit it and will it just work?

These mirrors do not need coding, they work standalone.

See http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic11523.html and http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic6602.html

Some models have the wiring, others don't. But apparently it just needs 12v to work, should be easy to find. See the tips in the topics above.

Here http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic24845.html someone fitted a mirror from a Disco II, a auto dimming mirror with a compass.

I was cleaning the screen once and just knocked the plastic shroud off it was a right pain to get back on correctly.

I read that the Range Rover Sport mirros are the same, can anyone confirm that for the 2013 FL2?

Don't think there is any difference between model years for the FL2 rear view mirror so any should fit (IIRC the RRS one will be a direct swap as will certain Ford/Volvo ones)

but I think there is a difference between dipping rear mirrors as the HSE/HSE Lux have a humidity sensor on the back of the mirror however I cant see that being an issue.

and as has already been said the mirror itself can be very awkward to refit, as can the plastic housing against the windscreen.

Managed to snag myself an original FL2 chromatic mirror for £110.
Another job that'll need doing when it arrives...

Shame I have one for sale for £15 and nobody's taken it,my 13model year XS did not have the wiring but a live, earth and a wire to the reverse switch is all that's needed.
