Ok wife says her f/l is whooshing on acceleration ,I can't hear it but i am going deaf ,so I presume its a hose or the intercooler.Any hoses more prone to failure than others?

In my experience the short hose that attaches to the throttle valve at the front of the engine is the one that seems to fail most regularly.

Not always easy to see if it's split without removing it as well. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

Spot on ,whooshing worse tonight so whipped the hose off and a 1.5 inch split ,no pipe so bonded with adhesive and duct tape and then clamp around to prevent expansion .Hey presto it worked ,so now to order a silicon off the bay to permanently fix it
