So i kind of understand that there is a lot of duplication behind the scenes, under the skin, the LR is essentially a RR with all the extra toys turned off (simplified massively and ignoring the engine differences)
The smart key function in the RR is a nice touch, my MY2013 LR has the same key fob essentially, is it as simple as enabling the smart key function in the Gen2.1 system (and maybe adding a receiver module) or is there much more to it?

Stuart in OZ is the man to say what can and can't be opened up in the black box. Ask him your specific questions, if he can't help no one can I would suggest FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I would think that would need new handles, door modules, probably key fob modules etc etc etc .......and a shed load of cash....
