3G? 3G? Pah! I get 4G It only drops down to 3G in poorer signal areas down here. I know what you mean though - when we go away to the Peak District, not only is broadband S L O W (less than 2Mbps) but it's sometimes impossible to even get DAB or bog standard radio signals in the car! Don't knock it. That system worked fine in 1588 when the Spanish Armada arrived (was that a 0G system?). Data rate was a bit low at 1 bit but better than you get in some areas today.  3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Like Dorsetfreelander I had a car phone back in the 80's - the size of a suitcase strapped in the boot. In those days it was analogue and some how or other the phone was cloned and I received a bill for about £6,000. From about 5pm on the Friday until 6am on the Monday every minute was taken up with calls to Islamabad, Karachi and numerous other towns and cities in Pakistan.

Thankfully the provider realised what had happened and asked me to go through the 15 or so pages of calls marking these which were mine. The bill, from memory came down to about £30.

Today I have my sister in laws iPhone 3 cast off and with payg and spend probably less than £30 a year. I have a full and active social life and do not feel the need to be constantly communicating with all and sundry about nothing.  MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.
