New all terrain tires 235/64/r17 ?

Looking for a new set of tires. Not too expensive but good quality.

Preferably some all terrain tires. Something more off road based as I do a lot of driving around on a friends farm.
Current size on the car is 235/65/r17

Any suggestions ?
Anybody know of a good upgrade from normal road tires?

Thanks

Multiple threads in this section on AT tyres.

in that size the list is pretty extensive for your options. General grabbers, Michelin, Avon, BFG to name but a few manufacturers.

ive had General Grabber AT2 on a couple of past FL1 and FL2 and found them to be very good. I know quite a few on here have had them fitted too with varying opinions.

Its a never ending book really and comes down to personal preference/budget and a bit of research.

I would suggest spending time searching and reading on here for AT tyre choice and narrow down your choices from that.

In 17'' you will have no end of choice of tyre brand as they are the better off road rim size (allows for deeper tyre side walls without compromising rolling radius)

Be aware of the road noise with some At tyres , my wife had some General Grabber At's on her Fl2 for 3 1/2 years during which time it was pretty noisy on tarmac , we recently changed them for Michelin latitude cross which are far better noise and handling wise . I've got some Pirelli Scorpion Atr's fitted to my Fl2 and they are quiet and have good road manners .

Another Vote for the Pirelli Scorpion ATR. Get them on decent tarmac and be amazed how quiet they are, especially on the 17" where you have a decent amount of sidewall. They cope nicely off road, I'm not talking axle deep mud-plugging but fields, tracks etc, also will deliver the goods in any snow that it is sensible to drive in. I use the Freelander on these places with some quite steep climbs and it's very capable on those tyres. Other thing is they have a very good rim protection bead . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Another vote for the 17" Pirelli Scorpion ATRs. I'm 20k into this set and they are going great. I had General Grabbers AT2s before these. Lasted well but wet grip and road noise were not the best. The Pirellis are better without a doubt - an all round tyre that will not embarrass you in the muck.

mines got 18" but still on Pirelli Scorpion ATRs and i'm well pleased with them, had them on a 110 years ago and they did well in all but the deepest muddy puddles and wet grass which as everybody knows like driving on marbles. Common sense isn't very common.
