United Kingdom 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Barolo Black

Hiya guys, I managed to upgrade from mid line to premium today and waiting for the CCF editing later next week. One thing I find it very strange is the original amp did not have a second green connector counting from the top. I saw other people's photos always have 2 green connectors. What was that for actually?
Without changing the CCF? The Sat Nav is not working too. Is that normal? Radio and disc not operable but a flash of the DAB logo. Is that normal too? Cheers!

Strange they are missing...

The 2nd green connector is for the headphone connections in the back seat.

I don't have a pic but here's one from the internet

At the rear of the center console there are these two panels for the rear occupants to plug in headphones.

Guess yours doesn't have them, but I find it odd that the cars aren't pre-wired for them.

Regarding your other questions, the MOST network is now interrupted because of an "incorrect" amp fitted, so no surprise that nothing on the MOST network is working. 2008 Freelander 2 HSE Si6 Black/Black - Hers

Hi Cambo, thanks a lot! I bought a Gap tools and finished updating the CCF. It worked just fine. Sound field upgraded quite a lot. Really worth investing the time and money. It was not a hard project. Thanks for all the info and inputs from this thread. Much appreciated! Happy Man! Freelander 2 XS MY 2012, 19" rims, Barolo Black. Privacy glass, spoiler.

Hi everyone, can anyone tell me if you need all the speakers fitted to get a DD amp to work? as I'm now on my 3rd amp and its still not working, but I don't have the rear speakers fitted (don't like them) the CCF was updated and I know it worked cos my DAB is now working (thanks Cambo for your thread), but still not the amp... Big Cry it was programmed for the premium 6 cd system in the CCF

thanks for any advise Thumbs Up 2010 XS Part Leather, Side Steps, Retro fitted 2014 Halogens with DRL & Sig Strip, tinted rear windows (looks much better!) 2 front dash speaker fitted, big improvement! Dash Cam, Full side moulding kit and centre cubby box and soon to be Dab Smile

It does not matter if certain speakers are not connected, it should still play sound out the other speakers.

Can only be that the CCF has not been set correctly, or you have three dud amps??? 2008 Freelander 2 HSE Si6 Black/Black - Hers

I love this thread Bow down

I've just finished installing all the speakers + DD amp off a Jag.

I was prepared for the stereo not working, but the sat nav screen was dead as a DoDo.

Oh Nooooo Whistle , I've messed it up...stupid Magnus i thought, Until i read about it here.

LR dealer booked for Monday, they've never done the upgrade before but are willing to have a go. Wink

Fingers crossed that the amp's a good'un Thumbs Up

Thank You ALL!!! Bow down

Just back from a two hour stint at the local LR dealer.

No luck in editing the CCF...?

Does this print out give any clues?

They said they will email UK and ask.
At least they were good sports, no charge. (This time..)

All the BEST!
Magnus

Here's a bit of a twist to the Surround retrofit for the cars up to 2012MY...

100mm surround speakers from the Jag XF, Bowers & Wilkins kevlar version
80mm dash speakers from the L405 Range Rover, Meridian Signature version (also kevlar)
165mm door bass speakers from the Jag XF, Bowers & Wilkins kevlar version

The sound is amazing....

The Bowers & Wilkins speakers are a straight swap, same plugs, same dimension.

The 80mm Meridian speakers have a different connector on them, had to cut the existing plugs off and solder in new ones. 2008 Freelander 2 HSE Si6 Black/Black - Hers

I so want to do this... but the amps on ebay all look sketchy and ive not seen a single one with DD on the end.
The DD one has Bluetooth right? it will work if I have the CCF edited to get the amp working?

I couldnt do without bluetooth in the car for the phone.

Does the premium do bluetooth audio - so you can play music from the phone?

There's ten of them on ebay right now https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=6H...p;_sacat=0

The amp has nothing to do with Bluetooth, if you have Bluetooth in the car now, you'll still have it afterward.

Bluetooth audio streaming was never an option in the early Freelander 2's, and has nothing to do with the amplifier type.

All this does is upgrade the Alpine branded mid-line system to the Alpine-branded surround system. 2008 Freelander 2 HSE Si6 Black/Black - Hers
