Nanoparticles from car exhausts

http://www.abc.net.au/worldtoday/content/2016/s4660436.htm

British researchers have found nanoparticles from car exhausts can penetrate the lungs and travel into the blood stream. Such pollution can increase the risk of heart attack and stroke, as they lodge in diseased blood vessels.

Well there's a surprise, who saw that coming? Common sense isn't very common.

Seeing as one has to breathe and car exhaust particles won't disappear overnight one should attempt to live a life that excludes exposure to diseased blood vessels, therefore rendering such nanoparticles harmless Rolling Eyes my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

That's why I do my bit by also running a V8 ZTT should negate some of those harmful diesel particulates! Mr. Green

Mmmmm research says .......

This is from the land of the deep fried Mars bar. These new nano-particles, are they smaller than fat/cholesterol molecules?
When it comes to blocking arteries surely larger sticky molecules are better.

Well now we have saved the planet by buying diesels (less CO2) we now have to save the planet by buying electric, once we have all bought electric we will have to save the birds from the wind farms by buying a horse and cart.

Lets get realistic it's government sponsored "R&D" to justify a tax hike. Because obviously they are not going to reduce the tax on petrol to tease us back into petrol cars for the good of our health. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

I agree with Andy131. I also suspect that these particles, whilst I'm not trying to deny that they're harmful, are no more harmful to us than any myriad of natural atmospheric particles that we're exposed to. Such as Volcanic ash, dirt dust when the wind blows or smoke from a bonfire. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE
