I tow with an Oris bolt on flange swan neck. Had it on my Disco 2 some years ago.
Never had a problem with it. Gives more distance from the bumper, when backing up, to hook up.

the blue/white box is a Maggiolina sleeping pod, which I used last year. Now sold.

this year I have a Bundutec, from SA.

its electric driven and is a whole lot bigger inside.

Looks like the worlds biggest cool box on the roof. Common sense isn't very common.

As a complete novice to towing, why should you not apply grease?

if you have a metal tow ball and an ALL metal coupling .......... it needs greasing to prevent wear. This is a non-stabilizing coupling.

if you have a metal tow ball and a pad based friction stabilizing coupling .......... it needs to be clear of any grease/oil. Liken it to your brakes.

Wales 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Mauritius Blue

Hi all
Thought I'd update this with some pictures of the outfit from yesterday - took the van down west a short way for relatives and will be back to pick it up in a few weeks.

The Freelander towed without issue as you might expect Smile
