I have tried the search engine but cannot find if anyone has fitted "whisper roofbars" and if so how have they found the fitting and noise,mpg etc. Any information?

If you search for Prorack Whispbars you may have more luck. BTW, I have a set.

I have a set of Whispbars.. excellent set of roof bars, very easy to fit and they aren't particularly noisy. One thing to consider.. with them fitted the sunroof cannot be opened. They are quite wise, so I had to order a new set up c-bolts for my roof box at an additional £8.

I too have Whispbars fitted. Lovely (although I do keep banging my head on them while getting the kids out the car).

Haven't noticed any noise and there is no way they will affect MPG. Learned to drive in 2011.

Here you go LR Nut. I chose the wide ones as we have a wide roof box and wanted space for 1 bike carrier. You can get the flush ones that curve nicely into the mounts, which bolt directly into the body of the car if you don't have rails. Lovely. Got from roofbox.co.uk

I also chose the wide option.. perfect for shifting sheets of ply and building materials

Only issue I had was the bolts/screws that are in the body already were quite corroded inside and I couldn't get the grub screws securely in. Quick PM to Dan at Duckworths and I had 4 new ones for just a few £. Worked perfectly. Learned to drive in 2011.

I'd recommend cleaning the threads out once the plastic plugs have been removed; use a thread tap.. think it's m6x1 or 1.25. Definitely made fitting the studs a lot easier.

I did clean them but despite even drilling into them, they just weren't deep enough. Was very odd. Learned to drive in 2011.

If you drill two holes into the plug. Careful not to go through quickly. You do not even have to drill all the way through, just enough for the end of a pair of pointy nosed pliers to key in, then turn the plug out. Use a pin vice to hold the small drill bit.

Yeah, 2 of the 4 plugs snapped. The plastic had gone quite brittle. Had I known the grief they were going to cause I'd have ordered new ones and not even tried the old ones  Learned to drive in 2011.
