Poland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 S Auto Santorini Black
Lights all time on

Hello, my name is Karol. I am reading this forum since year but this is my first post. I am from Poland and I own FL2 2.2 160HP Automatic, xenon lights, production 2009. Welcome All FL2 Enthusiats.

I have one question. Previously I owne Disco 3 in HSE specification and when I set light switch to 0 than there was no light on. In my Freelander 2 when I have it to ZERO than it has normal lights on the same is in auto position. In auto position it only differs that when light condition change to dark than "green lamp" on instrument panel switches on and the lights are the same.

It means I am not able to swith all light at all when engine is running. Sometimes I am doing something in my car with engine runing or when I am off roading I don't need light but I am not able to switch them off tottaly (less I can do is position lighst).

Can anyone help me solve this issue how to switch off light fully when engine is running?

Regards, Karol

It looks like your car has the setting 'Scandinavian mode' enabled in which case the lights are always on when the engine is running. If 'Scandinavian mode' is not enabled you can switch off the lights. It is not a setting you can change I think, you need a dealer or LR specialist with the proper tools to change the setting.

I think grumsel is right. Probably the previous owner decided to have "daytime running lights" enabled. The handbook for your model mentions "daytime running lights" but unfotunately doesn't say how they are enabled or disabled.

I agree, I think a visit to LR dealer is needed. driving on the right side
