Maintenance Advice (New Member) 2007 HSE TD4

Hi All

This is my first post here, it's really good to see a community that loves these great cars! I've been reading up a lot on the pre face-lift Freelander 2's and was hoping to get some advice on the below

- I am aware of the haldex gen 3 issues. My FL2 has 105000 k's and no sign of any rear end whiring or grumbling. However, should i be expecting this to happen some time soon? I have read so many mixed reports of this - is it really a ticking time bomb??

- being 10 years old but low km's, should i be looking to change the cam/aux belt soon? Belts look OK after inspection.

- I will be carrying out a coolant flush this weekend and was wondering if there were any hidden bleed points on the engine?

- i will be doing a transmission flush and probably rear diff & Xfer box oil flush too, are there any other items you recommend being 10 years old?

thanks!! Bow down Thumbs Up

G'day cobbler and welcome,I believe the came belt should be changed after 10 years.

Hi There,
We have an 06 HSE TD4 that's now done over 200K KM and no Haldex issues to date (touch wood).

At 184K KM we did the belts, water pump, clutch, flywheel, slave cylinder and still running well - odd issues every now and then (e.g. turbo out hose just split so replaced) but still drives really well.

We really love our Freel2 and I bet with your low KM's that if you spend a bit on it that you'll get great service from yours!
Cheers,
Mick
