Magantec 'Stop/Start' for non Stop/Start engine....?

Hi,

About to service the FL2 and according to Opie oils this Magnatec 'stop/start' oil is Ok to use in my 'non-stop/start' vehicle :- http://www.opieoils.co.uk/pv-196243-castro...mentNotes=

Advanced factors state the same :- http://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/kit008c-f...3538-p.asp

Anyone have any views ? cheers,

For DPF stop start FL2's it has to be to the C1 spec. Magnetic is not. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I don't have a DPF on mine though, so this would be OK? Bit of a concern if its not and Opie Oils and AF are saying it is. I searched both sites based on the reg and the correct vehicle came up. cheers,

Talk to an oil company. Find Millers oil:

http://www.millersoils.co.uk/

email them or phone.

I buy the correct Millers oil from Opie but got the correct spec from Millers as the Opie site and many others contradict themselves. Castrol as recommended by JLR told me by email I needed to buy C1 for my MY13 but then said it was only available via a JLR dealer (at really silly prices). If you change your oil at much less than the 15,000 miles LR have as spec you can use any old 5 30 oil but if you run to miles spec (I would not) you really must get the right gear. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

A5 is fine for your 2010 model. Magnatec have dropped A1 spec in favour of A5.

Bob[/quoterecently bought 6lt of magnatec c2 s/start fullt synthetic, yorky bob also said it should be c1,so took it back, went onto the OPIE site and spoke to an advisor, who checked it out and also said for the pre face lift models (mine is a late 2010) that they now recommended A5 as you have said,so waiting for delivery of 7lt for £52, as we speak.

Does anyone know...

I realise Castrol A5 is the recommended oil for a non-DPF FL2, but as C2 or C3 is cheaper and more readily available, is this considered an upgrade to A5, or a no-no for non-DPF cars?

Thanks
