United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Sumatra Black
Poor acceleration

Hi,

I looked in the forum, but haven't found a similar problem...

FL2 2008 125,000 miles. Just had a service and MOT which it passed.

Acceleration is very poor. In any gear (manual), if I press the pedal hard, not much happens and acceleration is veeeery slow. If I press the pedal gently, acceleration is better, but ultimately the car really struggles to get up to even 70!

I can't hear expensive noises, neither can I hear any turbo whistle though. No warning lights on the dash.

Fuel filter?
EGR valve?
Split turbo hose?

Thanks in advance Smile
Chris

Doesn't feel like clutch slip. I have had this on occasion a couple of years ago in 6th at 70 mph.

First and foremost if the vehicle was in good order before your service and especially if a fuel filter was changed I would be sat on the door of the garage demanding some free action.

Strange no reduced power warning messages /lights. Just taking my air filter pipes off / Engine Cover to get at the fuel filter gives a reduced power message on my MY13 when restarted before pipe goes back on. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Sounds very similar to reduced power mode, by the sound of it your not getting any turbo boost.
