England 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Santorini Black
Voicetags

Have just discovered after 7 years of ownership, that I can change the ring tone on my 2010 Freelander 2 HSE!

I also found that I can press and hold the green call button so the lcd displays "call voicetag". Does this mean I should be able to set up some sort of voice commands for my phone (Samsung Galaxy S5) or indeed use voice control to set destinations on the Sat Nav or even use it to select radio stations?

I've searched on here and there was one person asking something similar back in 2014 but it got no responses

Thanks

cheers npinks... I'm not bothered that it's probably cr4p.... but just want to know if it's a function available in an old 2010 HSE Freelander 2

I think 2010 was the year before LR realised that they needed to do something proper with in car connectivity !

I can't answer you question directly as I have the later model, I suggest you refer the owners manual for your MY. I was unaware of any voice command system prior to MY13.
Otherwise possible a bit of research on the Alpine System as it was also fitted to other Land Rover products of the same MY.
In regards to the Voice Control on the later model I find is excellent but like the rest of the infotainment unless you fully understand the technology then it can be quite daunting and even difficult to use.
I use the Voice Control daily as such ive turned off "voice control confirmation" which cancels voice confirmation and you can
Combine voice commands so once you have used a voice command function a few times you learn to combine the whole command pathway and can say it in all one command, simple.
No need to look at the screen or follow commands.
It works very well once you know the system. MY15
