Hi there hope someone can shed some light on this fault code!! P0234 keeps coming up and car goes into reduced engine performance mode, like it did today on way home from Blackpool. RAC say it's a turbocharger over boosting and could be a vein in the turbo sticking or EGR valve sticking ? If it's EGR do you know if 07 LR2 can just be blocked off or does EMU need amending also ? Any help appreciated thanks Gary

Pre 2010/2011 you can just block the EGR off without any CCF amendments.

Plenty of threads on here via search on where to buy a blanking plate, how to fit, pros and cons.

I had a similar problem on mine, after Land Rover told me it was the Turbo, which I didn't go with. It turned out to be the MAP (manifold air pressure) sensor. This is mounted next to the EGR valve intake on the manifold, and it get hot and oily, thus giving false readings back to ecu on the manifold pressure, since that differs from the turbo boost sensor it assumes the turbo is in over boost. Cost to repair was £36, not the £1000 + that Landrover quoted.

Does it shudder slightly on shutdown? If so, it could be throttle body, simple job about £60 ish to buy  MY2014 SD4 XS

on mine no. I had already changed the throttle body as it was a bit noisy. It would just drop power. Since changing the MAP sensor it has been great, plus increased the power as well. Revs much crisper.
