Interface and cable for REVERSE CAMERA to OEM screen

Hi i´ve emailed gsmserver.com about this video interface for my freelander 2 S Sd4 :

https://gsmserver.com/item/car-video-inter...currency=2

Plus this cable :

https://gsmserver.com/item/car-video-inter...-interface

They told me its compatible with my vehicle, but that i dont need the cable , because the cable for lexus (which is in the package with video interface) will fit my car.

Could someone confirm if i dont need the extra cable ??

Thanks Thumbs Up

Do you have the small display screen or the larger touchscreen?
I think you will find this only works with the 7" touchscreen.
I don't think the small display screen utilises LVDS/GVIF.
Best thing to do is to remove screen and take a picture and post it. MY15

Ive also noticed that you have a 2011 S.....do you have any screen?
I have a 2015 so the electrical systems are quite different.
Your biggest problem is going to be your wiring. MY15

They told me the interface could be wired only to the dvd under the car and the rear camera , my only doubt is if i really need that cable as i saw other post here stating well need it ( Gsmserver says i dont need it as its included in the interface kit as a lexus cable thats the same)

I took a look at the dvd under the seat but its all "shielded" and didnt want to open it until i have the parts to mount it. And as i couldnt be any more days with the nav and the boot of the car dismantled i mounted it all again. So for the moment first i want to fit the camera ( Need to order the number plate camera, the av interface, maybe that gvif land rover cable)

So can someone confirm if i need the cable :

https://gsmserver.com/item/car-video-inter...-interface

My next plans once i have the camera working will be the parking sensors.

Although i didnt locate in the boot the squared loose conector that should connect to the parking sensors wiring loom, but i suppose it must be there hidden somewere in a corner or something.. Maybe someone remembers where it should be ?

Thanks Thumbs Up

Ok, I'm really confused.....you need to give far more detail in regards to what equipment you have as you have stated you have an "S" but you have NAV? Touchscreen? What level Alpine system? They are all related.....including parking sensors which you are saying you have NIL? ATM. It's a very strange combination.
You see my problem...
The PAM has 3 plugs not 1, again depending on your spec, which an "S" will not have wiring as its a part of the
Chasis harness and this is spec related.
Are those pics above your system? MY15

Hi , yes its an sd4 S Novemeber 2010 and the photos are from my car. It has touch screen nav, i know it has an alpine system i suppose the basic ?

Didnt want to post the plate

The parking sensors, they told me "it was only missing the parking module" , but i took a look dismantling the boot and it had a non land-rover parking module, with non land rover 2 wires per sensor and missing the typical not land rover display with color lines and buzzer.

This isnt the original land rover parking module lol

So i bought a land rover parking module from a breakers, and yes i connected it to two orange connectors and one black one, i think each orange one is for front/ rear sensors and the black to the ecu :

Parking moudule connected.

What i mean i havent found in the car is the connector that connects to the parking sensors original wiring loom, which i have to buy. I mean i havent found where to connect this :

^^ that big black connector i havent found where to connect it, the little ones i know go to the sensors which ill have to buy also 3 wire sensors.

Ill also need to buy the button line with the P )) Park assist button :

Park Assist.

Front Parking Harness/Plug is the same for front fog lights, they are the same harness. Socket is behind mud guard inner liner access panel on passenger side RHD, should be same for LHD if not then check other side.

Rear Parking Harness/Plug is behind rear bumper on drivers side RHD, again check other side if you have no luck finding it on your LHD version.

I suggest if you have no luck finding these plug-ins that you check the electrical schematics, you can find them on here for your model, and trace from the PAM to where they terminate. Even though you have the 3 plugs at the PAM, they may terminate at a socket along the path.

Reverse Camera
I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong but Reverse Camera with Park Assist was never a feature of that generation touch screen, therefore i'm assuming that the interface you are purchasing will be able to display a picture by intercepting the signal from the Nav module and you will have some way of switching between Nav and Camera. I have no idea if you need the extra cable, I would just go with what the supplier is saying, I'm assuming they have done this before. MY15

The MY10 HSE I had was fitted with camera and park assist so it was available and possible. I miss it now that I've changed to a late '12 HSE SD4. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE
