Battery and current drain

Sorry to start another battery thread but I've read through loads here going back a decade.
Having replaced battery Last march less than 6 months later I got the dreaded HDC fault ie dead battery.
FL2 had stood over a week after a long run, and only used on long runs.
The recovery truck tried his jump pack, but no go, jump from truck no good either, eventually went with both.
Took back to battery specialist as the Exide 80 ampHour AGM has 3 yr warranty they said just need charge so used Ctek and they then said battery and alternator were fine.
Battery again died after about a week standing. Advice here implies 23.6mA drain after 12 or 35 mins but I am sure I never had this problem before. Not happy to not be sure if car will go if left more than a week.
2011 S no need for earth strap fix as fitted by LR FL2 11 S Black 😂

If you have DC clamp meter you don't need to disconnect anything.

This photo is the peak amps starting the engine. The 2046R reads down to 0.1 amp.

The 2033 reads down to 0.01 amp http://www.kew-ltd.co.jp/en/products/detail/00035/ Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Hi I had this problem .i traced it to the fuse in passanger side footwell which supplied the radio.and parrot.first I removed the fuse and the battary held its charge, the removed the radio to access the parrot wiring and removed the cables supplying the parrot.also remember to double lock the car for a quicker shut down of the ecu.hope this helps.

Thanks don't think my ammeter is accurate enough to measure these small currents so if continues will have to buy better one. Not sure why drain should be worse now though as only basic radio and no new stuff added. FL2 11 S Black 😂

Hi just measure the voltage across the fuses there's no need to pull them.this has all been covered in a previous topic it's just trial and error.make sure the bonnect lock are closed .if testing in the engine bay.and double lock the freelander to shut down and go into sleep mode.
