second hand purchase

Looking at getting a FL2 57 to 58 reg with about 80 to 90000 on the clock, I've never owned one before...couple of questions.
what should i look out for when buying one (engine problems etc)
Is it a good vehicle to own considering the age and milage, as they are still pricey?

Thanks in advance for your responses

Jay

Hi Jay, one thing to note is that you'll be getting close to a 10 year old vehicle, so you'll need to factor in for the 10 year service which can be quite expensive if you put the vehicle in to a garage. Supposedly it's a full fluid change (except the haldex) all belts including cambelt.

Factor this in to the price of the vehicle.

As has already been mentioned there is a huge amount of information regarding buying a FL2 on this site, enjoy searching and reading through the posts, any questions then ask away, there are some very knowledgeable people on here who are always happy to help.

Good luck with the purchase

Totally agree regarding haldex, really should be part of the service plan if you ask me. I shall be taking mine to Bell Engineering when the time comes

dennij Bell did mine a few months out of warranty as its a ticking expensive time bomb designed with no drain plug or service schedule.
