Dashcam fuse box

Hi guys,

Fitted a Nextbase dashcam in the Freelander today. In the passenger footwell fuse box I found two empty fuse holders, one at the bottom and one at the top. The bottom one didnt seem to work, but the top one did.

Is it ok to plug the fused hardwire kit into that socket?

Thanks in advance

Can't see it doing any harm, but it could be perm live or switch or one that turns off after 10-20 mins

Who knows without a fuse number to gain more info Wink Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Just been out to check, and it would appear it is a constant live.

I noticed F5 seemed to be a spare as far as I can tell, although there is a 10amp fuse there, I've put the dash cam fuse holder connector in there and now when I turn on the ignition, the dash cam comes on, and when I turn off, it turns off.

Does that seem ok?

Thanks very much for your help.

that sounds fine, however having the dash cam turn on/off with ignition will mean no cover for parking incidents Idea Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I found F5 to be a running feed and NOT an ign feed, which also works to power my nextbase dash cam BUT you need the engine running to actually get a feed at it and not just the ign on. Thumbs Up hope that helps people too. FREELANDER 1 55 plate XS TD4 Had for 7yrs now sold 😢
