towing weights

just noticed whilst browsing, some manufacturers quote 12% & 8% gradients

Trailer weight limit at 12% gradient 1800 kg
Trailer weight limit at 8% gradient 2000kg

if your caravan is 1835kg, does that mean your illegal if towing up a 12% gradient?, but ok on anything below? Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Usually these things are cutoffs, so my guess is 1800 kg otherwise they would give a figure for 11%.

Some of Sydney's steepest streets.

Short steep sections of streets around my local area are 21% (at set of lights it's about 13%), 2 at 17%, 14%. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

That picture is about 5 degrees (aprox. 10% gradient) artificial exaggerated... Very Happy
Even still, quite an incline even for corrected picture (about 15 degrees, 30% gradient) !
