Thinking of changing to the 20" evoque wheels.

Im sure this has been covered but i can't see it so apologies. Im thinking of changing from my 19" wheels to the 20" evoque wheels (5 spoke forked style) is the tyre size 245/45/20 V rating ok? i have seen somewhere that the freelander 2 should have 275/45/20?

Don't want to spend a fortune on wheels and tyres and need to replace the tyres. the wife would kill me!! Censored Regards

Alan

Correct size of a tyre for 20" Evoque wheels is 255/45/20, that keeps the rolling radius the same as other FL2 wheel/tyre sizes.
Although I am running (non standard) 275/45/20 on my Evoque wheels.
General rule of thumb re sizing is +/- 3% from standard.

Evoque wheels have different offset to the FL2 wheels of et35 v et45, result is they sit 10mm more proud of the vehicle.
Btw, There are no rubbing issues on either of the tyre sizes I've listed. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

Also running 275/45/20's on mine with no issues and if anything my speedo is now bang on.
Before it was over reading...
i.e it would read 60 but I would be doing 57 according to GPS.

Cheers

The Evoque 20 is an 8" wheel. 8" wheels should have a minimum of 215 and a maximum of 245 tyre width, and an ideal somewhere inbetween.
