When you remove the pillars that support the roof rail, you will need to refit the plastic bolts that filled the holes(you did keep these didn't you?), these were made more watertight with a sealant. You will also need to replace the plastic trims as they needed to be drilled to fit the roof rails. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

As they say in Haynes manuals removal is the reverse of fitting - check this out: https://youtu.be/PGPbF3E_dPU No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

The freelander came with the rails fitted,I have removed the rear holes and covered with button head and repair washer as a temp measure.so far I have left the front bolts in with studs showing.its the only way to get it into my garage .other parts removed are side steps which get in the way of the jacking points, dog guard,no dog.next tow bar no caravan .

Despite having no caravan I would be tempted to leave the tow bar - the number of times I have been gently shunted in the rear, to be saved by the tow bar doesn't bear thinking about.

OK I was once violently shunted in the rear, and the tow bar guided the offending vehicle underneath mine - Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Ok Andy 131 so you would leave the big parking sensor in place.still looking for ideas to cover the front holes.when removed what size do I need to block the hole and keep the fitting with the roof rails.

This is what came out of mine

m10 thread 20mm long 25mm "washer" diameter
The blind hole in the centre is 6mm, with a plastic push in plug

I took two of these out and fitted the screw in pillars Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

I would also definately leave the tow bar on - three times I have had those behind roll into my rear - it often results in at least a broken number plate for them or worse - me - not a scratch! Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?
