Suction in Fuel Tank affecting engine performance

Fuel Tank Vacuun

When I get down to about 150 Miles Left (Range) the low fuel light comes on.
Within a few more miles the engine power drops. By removing the fuel cap and hearing the great 'gasp' to allow
air in, the light will then go off and the engine will run normally.

The more the fuel level goes down the more frequent the above problem.

It can be very disconcerting when the power falls away on a motorway.

Any answers ?
