Trip West of Sydney

Vesko and I will be doing a weekender, camping saturday night in the near future. Location will be about an hour west of Western Sydney just over the Blue Mountains. There will be some reasonable tracks with water crossings and hill climbs, nothing that will damage your car but challenging just the same. A nice free camping area, some lookouts and wildlife. If anyone is interested then let us know and we will pick a date that suits. No off road experience required, we'll guide you when required and show you the ropes.

Don't mistake us for Kiwis. All the sheep shagging jokes are reserved for the South Sea Poms across the Tasman with funny accents. There's more sheep than people over there. Smile

Was looking forward to your reply as that was a local joke I used, I lived in NZ for a couple of years some 20 plus years ago and keep popping back. Sheep Sheep Sheep

I should have stayed longer and got a NZ passport looking at what is happening in UK as I type. Banging Head FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Then you will remember the NZ prime minister's joke. When New Zealanders emigrate to Australia the IQ of both countries increase! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Aussies are pretty merciless when it comes to having a go at Kiwis. Typically they are not very bright, lazy sheep shaggers in any jokes we conjure up but in reality, this means we like them a lot. I've rarely met a Kiwi I didn't like and I'd have no problem living there, it's a nice place...if I could put up with all the ribbing I'd receive in return. They can dish it out too. Smile

A Kiwi walks into a Sydney unemployment office.
He marches straight up to the counter and says, "Hi! I wunt to apply for the dole, I hate being un wilfare and I'd much rather have a job but I have looked iverywhere and just can't find uny." (No spelling mistakes...it's his Kiwi accent)
The clerk behind the Centrelink desk says, "Your timing is excellent. We just got a job opening from a very wealthy old man who needs a chauffeur/bodyguard for his two twin 21 year old nymphomaniac daughters. You'll have to drive them around in his Mercedes, but he'll supply all of your clothes. You'll have a three-bedroom apartment above the garage. Because of the long hours, meals will be provided. You'll be expected to escort his daughters on their frequent overseas holidays to Tahiti and the Bahamas. The starting salary is $250,000 a year".
The Kiwi says, "No way mate, you gotta be bullshitting me!"
The Centrelink officer says, "Yeah, well, you started it".

Ok, this trip is on for the 20th and 21st of August, meeting near Lithgow at 10am saturday the 20th. We'll be visiting some of the better known 4wd tracks on the Newnes Plateau then driving out to Turon National Park to camp saturday night. The drive home will be via Sunny Corner.
So far it is only Vesko and myself, but others are welcome. The grading is easy but there is difficult everywhere if you want to try it.

As usual after a trip I gave my lovely little beast a proper water blast and a double shampoo wash, polish and wax to follow. I’m also grateful to Mikehzz.

Hey Mike, thank you for showing me so many beautiful places, so near to Sydney and for letting me understand how a perfectly normal man becomes a grumpy old man. Wink Rolling with laughter 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 SE
