United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 Sport Auto Firenze Red

Does look great mate, just spent an hour reading the whole thread and must say I'm impressed, wanting to keep my new Sport LE standard, but must say you've given me some ideas lol... Of course I'm in desperate need of xenon lights now!! Take it this job isn't just plug and play?

xenon upgrade is very easy, though you will need the CCF file editing to tell it you have xenons, otherwise they will eithe r flicker or not work at all.
allow 30-70 for the CCF file work - takes 5 minutes
Generally the lights should just plug in, unless you are using new xenonx into an older car, then you "may" need to make some adjustments to the wireing as I recall the connector plugs may be different.

CCF = Car Configuration File.

I'm hitting the search function at the minute but can't seem to find a thread on someone doing it start to finish, don't suppose someone can point me in the right direction, really wanted them when purchasing, and wasn't aware they could be retro fitted! This is good news Smile

there is no cutting involved, the lights are a straight physical swap over. the only difference is the type/shape of the block connector but if you buy lights second hand just make sure they have the connector still attached and then just cut your old connector off and solder the wires together. Don't think the colour coding even changed so its a simple job (apparently Whistle )

Well I’ve not updated my thread on here in a while. After 4 years to the day today I finally got to play hide n seek! Car handled brilliantly. I did get out to check the bodykit as some parts had a large amount of snow hiding the ruts. I didn’t realise that I had parked the car on a sheet of ice covered in snow. When I got back in to drive away the wheels were just spinning. I then switched the terrain response to grass, gravel & snow took the traction control off accelerated hard and the car found traction and pulled away.

Well today after 4 years pondering Laughing I finally took the plunge and dropped the gear knob off to be painted in gloss black. I will be keeping the silver insert as is making it look more like a factory option.

Well I got the gear knob back today and it’s something I should have done when I got the gear surround and sat nav tray console painted 4 years back Laughing Its a much nicer feel to the hand than the textured plastic was. It goes well with the rest of the factory grand black lacquer which are the grab handles, glove box trim and steering wheel controls. This is how JLR should have done the grand black lacquer pack.
