England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Tambora Flame

Read down through the comments Pablo, you're looking at 4 hours per wheel to drill them out.

Is there no-one offering a locking wheel nut removal service near you? Alternatively try a different dealer, my local LR dealer removed mine in minutes without damaging them so must have had a set of master keys.

In fact, from McGard's website:

"Our Master Key Set program allows dealerships to service a vehicle when the customer's key is not available. Each dealership is provided with a dealer service folder for quick and easy ordering of replacement parts. We also offer e-mail, toll-free phone numbers and fax lines for convenient access to our full-service support staff."

The McGard locks are used across a wide range of vehicles, if your LR dealer can't help you try a Volvo dealer.

Good idea about Volvo; this links to the source car maker which was Ford so try a Ford dealer as well.
.
The Freelander was built from the Ford parts bin; it's a professional Kit Car in reality! (The engine is Peugeot / Citroen, auto box is Japanese).
.
Kind regards from Fred

Dear all,

Finally resolved. McGard replied saying they could identify the key from my photo. I had to supply images of the car registration document and drivers licence, name and address and pay 18.00 euros (inc p+p). A good service from McGard.

A huge thank you to all of you for your tips and advice, especially Moleshome, who signposted McGard in the first place.

Pablo Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Santorini Black

I recently bought my FL2 without a locking wheel nut key back in November. Luckily I wasn't in a rush, I just knew i didn't have one. Also to my fortune was the little card in the document wallet that gave the key code and "julian date" whatever that is.

Land Rover wanted £55 and a 4 week wait.

Contacted Mcgard in germany, put in my details and paid 16 Euros. Arrived in four days, even came with sweets in the box, excellent service.
