After identifying the vehicle and data collection, select Service Functions -> Recommendations.
Then "Select Language"

See bellow:

i had do so,after this step you'll be ask to to connect to server to download the file or upload the file from your computer to SDD to be write to cluster.
note that i don't have access to server, that's why i need a donor file.

i'll really appreciate if someone could post a link where i can buy this file. Embarassed

The SDD comes in modules/DVDs.
The main DVD contains the main program.
And there are additional DVDs that contains the firmwares, those files that you are looking for.
You need to install those DVDs/files too, in order for the program to not ask for them.
If not, the program will try to go online and take them from there. Generally, depending on DVD version, is safe to let it do it.

For example, take a look here: http://www.diagnosticdelivery.com/idscentral/
SDD_DVD138_FULL.exe - is the main program.
VDF_L_DVD138_V5.exe - are the files for Land Rover
VDF_J_DVD138_V5.exe - are the files for Jaguar.

Now, all depends on which DVD version you have.

Even if you have DVD131, on your installation pack should be a DVD with a file like VDF_L_DVD131..EXE or something.
Install that file too and you'll have all needed files.
The SDD tries to get the secondary bootloader for CJB (central junction box) and IPC (instrument panel cluster) in order to be able to modify the CCF (car configuration file) that contains the language option.

I don't have that version.... Sorry...
And that file is quite big, it shouldn't be on the same DVD as the main program.
But let the computer to connect to the net and it will get those files for you.

If you are not successful, normally these files are downloaded: http://wikisend.com/download/462782/sbls.rar
Extract these two files to Program Files\IDS\Flash\VBF

Language for display unit - how to change?

Hi, I have bought a Freelander 2 built 10/11 first registered 2012, in Germany.

I need to change the central display console to English from German. My local dealer doesn't know how to do this.

I have attached EU Conformity Certificate to this message to give further details on model.

Can anyone help me to tell the dealer where to go do do this?

thanks.

Any Land Rover dealer is able to change the language. If they want to be helpful is a different matter.

If you show them Alex' picture, that is screenshot of the diagnostic program they use, if he can't figure it out from that picture then you need to find a better dealer...

Failing that, I know a guy in Essex who could do this for you. 2008 Freelander 2 HSE Si6 Black/Black - Hers

2005 Jaguar XJR 4.2 S/C Black/Cranberry
