England 2010 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black

Hi mate. Thanks for the reply, pretty in depth.

I've not long got the freelander, on the back are some barely legal conti cross or something like that and on the front are Landsail I think they are, what I've read is these are really low end budget tyres. So with winter approaching I thought some GG ATs might suit me well. I do the usual 25 mile commute to work and a little green laning. Everyone seems to say fuel economy isn't really affected. So I think I'll go for them.

Thanks all Thumbs Up 2010 HSE SD4 in Santorini black

England

I made the mistake thinking General Grabber AT's would work in the snow and ice. They really don't. They do however look really good on a Freelander 2

Given that the winters are getting milder and wetter in Gloucestershire, I have changed from the AT's to Mitchelin Lattitide cross contact. It's a nicer tyre and still has a sniff of off road ability.

as long as the GG AT tyres are a good all rounder thats fine by me. I would love to have 2 sets of tyres, one for winter and one for summer but thats a bit out of my budget at the minute. Shocked 2010 HSE SD4 in Santorini black

Just a possible alternate candidate, fitted Scorpion Verde All Season (19 inch) in Oct 2013 and did 54000 KM's on them:

Performance, grip & road holding in wet, dry, loose snow and packed snow/ice conditions through both of the last 2 summers (recent holiday they saw +42 deg C in Croatia) & winters (lowest temp experienced was -28 deg C) has always been excellent.

Just replaced them after 2 years with the same.

Just as an update, I spoke to my insurance today (Elephant) and they said all terrains would not have any effect on cost of policy and have added it as a modification.

Presumably the Verde All Season? - The Verde is a summer road tyre that isn't even M+S rated.

Apologies, only just picked up this question, as per the link in my post they were/are All Seasons (edited my earlier post) and done about 12000 km since Oct, including a trip back to Yorkshire & Gloucestershire over Xmas/New Year and no dramas.
