Will they squeeze in?

First time poster, completely new. Been reading on here for a while now though.
So, Will I be able to fit a set of 275/65/R17 on my 08 Freelander? Found a guy offloading a set for nothing.

Cheers.

You might have to put in a spacer shim to move the wheel out slightly? but only slightly as the wheel studs will need lengthening otherwise, which isnt impossible, I did it on my other car fitted 10mm longer studs in place of the originals.
Theres very little clearance between the standard tyre and the rear shock tube as it is on a FL2, I would think thats the fouling point?
Also it might affect the speedo reading as the OD will/might be bigger than the standard options??

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Santorini Black

EXISTING NEW
Diameter 763.2mm 789.3mm
Circumference 2397.7mm 2479.7mm
Poke 42.6mm 100.7mm
Inset 122.6mm 140.7mm
Ride height gain 0mm 13.05mm
Arch gap loss 0mm 13.05mm

I'd say no based on the above. I have just fitted 155/60/18's and they are absolutely fine in normal conditions. The only reported issues are at full lock and whilst off-roading.

The clearance of the rear struts will be your main problem on top of the "potential" rubbing issue above. the 255/60/18's only leave 2mm on the rear strut so the 275's are gonna pop imo!!!

Speedo error -9.57%
Reading at 30mph 30mph 27.13mph
Reading at 60mph 60mph 54.26mph

Your speedo error will be as above based on the difference between stock 235/60/17's to your proposed set of replacements...
