trailer stability assist

Can anyone let me know how I tell if the trailer stability assist system is working on my recently purchased 2012 Freelander 2 ?

Should I see any indication lights on the dash ?

It was purchased from an LR dealer and they fitted the towbar, so I assume that it has been programmed correctly.

I've been trying to contact their service department for a couple of days and no-one seems to want to talk to me.

Thanks

there is no lights on TSA, and there is no real way of testing it, other than getting a trailer out of control

I have towed on my MY14 FL2 and had it kick in, this happened and the ABS kicked in with a amber light flashing up on the dash whilst it was braking,

I had it back in and tested the car, but found nothing wrong Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thanks for that.....

I'm hoping I never have to put it to the test.

TSA is an algorithm that kicks in when the normal stability conditions are exceeded, i.e when the car is affected by an outside force rather than sensed normal loss of grip, it won't work when stability is switched off my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Dealer has finally got back to me and they reckon that when a trailer is connected a green trailer light should flash in unison with the indicators when they are used. otherwise the car isn't aware that the trailer is there. if that's not the case I need to take it back to have it reprogrammed.

I will hitch up tonight and check it out.

That is true, but the TSA needs no electrical connection for it to operate my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
