To be honest the rest of the boot look very dull and marred you'll be luck to get that done FOC

They complained that the upper boot of mine was dirty after the cable connectors rubbed away the paint there Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Phoned Oggs in Elgin to be told the Service Manager is off but they weren't aware of any issues. They tried to get me to take it to Aberdeen to which I told them where to go and agreed to email photos to the Service Manager could look at them on his return before I am able to get over to them.

I'll update post once heard from them but will be pushing for the problem to be resolved foc.

Popped into Oggs earlier as nearby and it turns out they have sent the photos to a Land Rover approved bodyshop near Aberdeen who will discuss with Land Rover.

I've also pm'd Ryan to try and push the point about being an ongoing issue.

Will wait for them to contact me.

Hi, first post, as I'm new to this forum,

I recently became the proud owner of a FL2, and within 24hrs spotted the boot handle paint chip issue on mine!

It is only a very small chip (on each end) but I'm concerned it will only get worse in time.....

It is a MY2011 facelift SD4 HSE, so seems to fit in with the age group mentioned in this thread.

I've also now found some corrosion on the offside rear wheel arch, at the bottom front where the door closes, see the photo, not what I expected on a LR Sad

I see that a Ryan at Land Rover Customer Services is mentioned, can anyone advise some contact details please?

(Apologies for the photos being wrong orientation, I'm trying to figure out how to rotate them)

Thanks for any guidance

Best Regards

Thats exactly what happened with both my fl2's, (albeit 6 or 7 times).
I have recently had a response from land rover technical after this issue was raised through customer relations. This is the exact response from Land rover technical:

"our Technical Team have advised that they are unaware of any issues with the paintwork on the tailgate. Therefore, at this moment in time there are no plans to apply a permanent fix to the tailgate area as it is not deemed as an issue".

I sometimes wonder if JLR ever accept that anything is deemed an issue!

Another one with the tailgate /handle/paint issue

Hello Ryan

I also have the tailgate handle paint issue, see the attached photo, it's similar at both ends, it's not rusty yet but down to the metal.....

I've also spotted corrosion on the rear off side wheel arch creeping from under the rubber cover strip.

These are issues I do not expect to see on a 4 year old Land Rover!

I know from this forum that the tailgate paint is a known issue

Please advise the best way forward to get these problems resolved?

Mines a 2014 model and I have the full width chrome strip/handle on the tailgate and Ive noticed mine is quite a bit clear of the tailgate paintwork all round so theres no chance of it rubbing the paint away, I wonder if they fitted a thicker gasket on the last cars to get around the problem?

Land Rover have authorised my repairs and the body shop phoned and booked the car in for 3rd August to do, when they will want for a few days.

Only grumbles to date are that the body shop is nearly an hour away and that they have only offered me a manual Vauxhall Corsa whilst they have mine, when I haven't driven a manual for many years. Guess they'll have to repair the clutch / gearbox not me Very Happy
