England 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Indus Silver
My Freelander 2011 XS

I thought it about time i wrote a short post about my Freelander and some of the simple mod's i have completed so far.

I bought it from Hunters of Kings Lynn Oct 2014, i have to say i was very happy with the experience and although i haven't had to use the warranty its a nice peace of mind. This is my third Freelander after a 07 SE and a 07 HSE although it is my first SD4 and first auto. I much prefer the auto box over the manual and cannot see any future car purchase being a manual. The only thing i miss from the HSE is the armrests! i keep looking for a HSE interior to transplant…

From the outside you may notice i have added tints, mud flaps, side protectors and wind deflectors, i like the look this gives and may add to it soon with roof bars and perhaps darker paint on the alloys.

From the back you can see the obligatory Freel2 sticker and the aftermarket DAB ariel, more of which in a bit.

You can see my aftermarket solution to no DAB. This is wired via a flylead to fuse F5 and transmits on an FM frequency. I love to listen to sport on the radio especially in the evenings and this overcomes all the problems with MW reception which is very poor at night. I also like Absolute and BFBS during the day so this also ticks those boxes.

To feel fully in the club i obviously needed a dash cam! I fitted this today again via a flylead to fuse F15, this then switches the cam off after approx 10 mins of leaving the vehicle. It seems to be working fine but i cannot get my iMac to read the SD card as it says it does not have the codex, any help here would be greatfully received.

Finally here but actually my first mod when i got the car was a xenon conversion via retrofitting OE LR headlamps. I do a lot of driving in winter on small country roads and would not be without them.

Wel i think thats it for now, i may add roof rails in the future as i do like the look of them, however i have recently really got into road cycling and keep wondering if a VW would be a good option to transport my wifes and I bikes…

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Santorini Black

Hey Tom,

Looking smart there for sure Thumbs Up

I also see no point in changing gear Laughing the autos these days are so good.

I was looking for a VW T5 prior to opting for my latest LR - my current FL2. There is a lot to be said on the benefits of a bus, but for me, the overall driving and convenience of a more regular vehicle won over.

Great mods, keep enjoying Thumbs Up SD4 HSE Lux

England 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black

Hi your car looks great, am also on my third freelander which is my first auto. I agree what you have posted, autos are the way forward and I wouldn't be going back to a manual Thumbs Up Thumbs Up 2013 hse auto, black, almond leather, exnon lights, factory privacy glass, exhaust finisher, rear boot spoiler, mud flaps. Body door side moulding and steps.

Gone and fondly remembered

Nick,

No it was very straight forward, probably took about 30 mins including having a coffee. If you were closer I would offer to give you a hand Razz
