Try a shot of Millers Diesel Treatment next time you fill up. You could also consider adding 2-stroke oil to the fuel tank, but it's a hot topic with very diverse opinions on whether or not it actually benefits the engine overall. Plenty of comments on the topic, have a search on here. Foraging near Gaydon....

Doubt you will get that.....I drive it gently and get 36 on average. That's after 6000miles on the trip computer. I got 40 once doing 70mph on a clear motorway run  * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.

Follow Badger advised I put 50 ml of Milles into the tank with 50l diesel. Today I did a trip from Hexham to Catbells near Keswick and back of over 180 miles. The Average MPG read 41.3 MPG after the trip so the Millers must have done some thing. I hope after finishing the 500ml bottle the MPG will reach some where near 45 MPG as LR indicated.
Previously my Golf GTsport 170 HP TSI, which I owned from new 7 years ago, returned average 42-43 MPG against the listed 39+ MPG from VW.
After reading the TSO thread I wonder I should put some 2t oil into the diesel as well as the Millers.
