Thanks for that link Nick - you should ask Vax for commission. I've just ordered a cordless upright that sounds to be exactly what I've been after. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

for the sort of savings they seem ok and a good warranty, the one i ordered wont be good on the stairs, but with the size it should be good for down stairs

Our 2 year old expensive Dyson went bang yesterday and emitted a lot of smoke.
It's got a 5 year guarantee so it's going back to the shop tomorrow.
I've ordered a Vax Air Pet and if it's carp, poor Npinks life wont be worth living Laughing
Thanks for the tip Thumbs Up Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

I got a air3 compact

A little smaller than expected, but does a good job, light enough to carry about the house, up the stair and might be able to get the kids earning their keep Laughing

Did you get it in the full sale Greg? Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I did look at the VAX sale but bought it from A***S, the model before yours which is now discontinued but still showing on the VAX website.
48 quid, I kid you not!
I know Dyson will come to your house if there's a problem, so I'm leaving the shop to sort it.
My Mother had a Kirby years ago, mostly metal, hardly any plastic and was built like a tank (not my Mum!)
She took it to the skip cos she vacuumed over the cable and damaged the insulation Evil or Very Mad Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

I have three kirbys including an ancient heritage and if there was a nuclear war all that would be left is cockroaches and kirbys they are that tough! Smile
