Hi All

I have found one similar post detailing what I believe is the same problem which my car has now developed however there was no solution detailed on that thread - so here goes.

I have the 3.2 HSE auto and first thing in morning or after been stood for any length of time, upon starting and and selecting drive there is a grating noise when accelerating at low speed - possibly around the time when auto is changing from 1st to second? But on second thoughts it is when ever power is applied However after maybe 20 mins of driving this noise goes away but always returns again the next day.

The car has 200,000.00 km on but always (until 1.5 years ago serviced and maintained at main Stealer) and even had a 5000 gbp engine replacement, or top end rebuild just before warranty expired. Since then its had it fair share of problems, steering column locked 500gbp, radiator required replacing 750gbp and AC problems among others. This could be the straw that broke the camels back and time for me to get rid of it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

SOLUTION at last!

After many checks and speculation re auto gearbox/auto clutch, cv joint, drive shaft, haldex unit, differential bearing among others, the vibration problem/grinding and knocking noise when accelerating and turning to the right has be solved by changing the 3 major engine mounts as detailed below.

Hope this helps someone else without replacing other more expensive parts whilst attempting to resolve
