I am new here and about to take delivery of a new Freelander 2 (Metropolis SD4). This will be my first venture into the Land Rover world and I am looking forward to owning one

Having owned a 56 registration FL2 SE manual for four years, and just bought a new Metropolis I felt I ought to join the forum.

The SE has been a good automotive companion, with a few little niggles, but not enough to prevent us buying one of the last of these cars. The new arrival is Barolo with black leather and a boot spoiler. Looks great and good value after a healthy discount too.

Congratulations on your new Metropolis. Mine is Barolo Black but I have not seen it yet as it has not arrived at the dealers and there were no other examples on site when I ordered it.

How does the Barolo black compare with the Santorini Black? I understand the Barolo has a dark red fleck in certain light conditions which sounds really nice but I am just hoping it is not going to be disappointing when I see it the flesh.

Ive only seen the new car under the flattering lights of the LR showroom, but it does have a red and gold fleck to it. The Santorini is more if a normal metallic black I think.

If you specified Barolo on a non Metropolis vehicle, it was a cost option of £1100.

As the resident car cleaner in our house, I had some reservation, but it's a handsome colour and suits the shape of the car.

Hi, I've been meaning to join ever since I got my Freelander 2 last yearbut never got around to it. Now I've had a spot of bother with my landrover detachable towbar and seen a lot of conversations on this forum concerning them I though I would offer my recent experience. Thanks in advance to any one who responds and thanks to the members who have already shared there experience which has encouraged me to join. I just need to find the towbar section now?

I have a FL2 White Soecial Edition, with a few mods, it's coming up for 5 years old now but I have no desire to change it

I am not a LR owner, but came here when I saw a topic that interested me. I was curious about mixing oil and diesel together, but I will save my questions for the proper thread.
