How common are manual gearbox faults on FL2s?

Back in February this year I sold a 10 reg FL2. It had had a number of problems and I finally decided to move it on when it developed a problem getting into 5th gear (grinding and rattling noise), this started at about 50k miles. I replaced it with an 11 reg facelift FL2 with extended warranty and the dealer was aware of the problem when I did the trade in. About a month ago the new vehicle started to display the same problem in 5th. This has been fixed under warranty and the gearbox refurbished and now works fine. Just in case anyone thinks it's something to do with driving style we had another FL2 which did 100K miles with no problems.
I was just wondering if others have found similar weaknesses in FL2 manual gearboxes or was I unlucky to have had two bad ones?

Faults with the box itself are pretty much unheard of, so you would appear to have been very unlucky!
